Our Certifications

Lighting Certification for Europe and North America

Our lighting collection has received CE marking and CB certification for the European market and therefore proves compliance to the applicable directives. Our lighting products are also tested by a third party against published IEC standards.

Lighting products for the US market are UL and cULus listed for both North America and Canada. They have been tested and comply with the applicable UL Standards, and maintain periodic inspection by a UL auditor.

Additionally, all of our electrical accessories carry the needed electrical safety certifications.

Some of our seating collection has been tested according to the BIFMA mechanical safety and durability standards. During the engineering process of BuzziSpark, for example, we took the design rules and quality levels of both ANSI/BIFMA X5.4: 2012 (for the US market) and DIN EN 16139: 2014-03 Level 1/2 (for the EU market) to ensure the product complied to the mechanical safety, strength, and durability BuzziSpace stands for.

Different countries and regions demand other certifications proving the absence of hazardous substances and VOCs both on a product and component level. Our BuzziPicNic and BuzziNest solutions have a Blue Angel (Der Blaue Engel) certification, which holds high regard in Germany. The upholstered walls and wooden worktops in BuzziNest were tested according to DE-UZ 38 and has additionally been tested by FEMB according to the requirements of chapter 7.6.2.

Furthermore, BuzziPicNic and a vast selection of our product range have also achieved the “Clear Air Gold” certification. Joined with our UL GREENGUARD Gold certified products, they all comply with both ANSI/BIFMA M7.1-2011 and CDPH 01350 Method V1.2.

Most wooden components need to fulfill either CARB2 or Medite standards, while paints and varnishes should comply with hazardous substances standards as well.

— UL GREENGUARD Certification

BuzziSpace is UL GREENGUARD certified, meaning our products meet some of the world’s most rigorous, third-party chemical emissions standards. Studies have shown that people spend more than 90% of their time indoors, where air pollutants can be 2-5 times higher than outdoors. With the UL GREENGUARD Certification, our products are scientifically proven to help reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure. Only the lowest emitting products receive the certification.

The UL GREENGUARD Certification is internationally recognized in many Green Building Rating Systems, such as LEED, Fitwel, and BREEAM, amongst others, in addition to architects and designers looking to use sustainable products for their projects.

— PEFC (Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification)

BuzziSpace obtained its PEFC (PEFC/07 32 385) certification in 2019 (registration nr WOOD.BE-COC-001539). Recognized by the most prominent forest certification organization, our PEFC-certified wood used to make furniture comes from both legal and sustainable sources.

With PEFC certification, we ensure that the timber used to manufacture our products originate from sustainable forests and that these credentials can be passed on by the implementation of our chain of custody systems. The certification also enables us to give our customers peace of mind knowing that our wooden products come from well-managed certified forests.

— SCS Indoor Advantage GOLD

Our BuzziNest acoustic privacy booths have achieved SCS (Scientific Certification Systems) Indoor Advantage GOLD certification for indoor air quality, demonstrating our commitment to delivering environmentally friendly and sustainable products for use in any workplace. This certification ensures our products have low VOC emissions and aligns with both ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 and X7.1 and CA 01350. It is recognized by the EPA and GSA and qualifies for many building rating systems, including LEED v4, BREEAM, WELL Building, and Living Building Challenge.

— FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)

BuzziSpace is FSC® certified (Forest Stewardship Council® FSC® C167778). Complying with Forest Stewardship Council’s high standards regarding forestry, you can rest assured knowing that our FSC Certified wood and cardboard materials are obtained from ethical and responsible sources, and are procured in both an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner. As an FSC certified company, we can continue to take care of the people, communities, animals, and habitats that thrive in our forests.

— Peutz Testing

The acoustic properties of our products are tested in Peutz, an acoustics laboratory in the Netherlands with an accreditation according to ISO / IEC 17025. We provide a full testing report with our customers to ensure complete transparency.

— Quiet Mark

A large range of our acoustic panels, office dividers, and lighting have been Quiet Mark certified and added to the Acoustics Academy online directory of verified acoustic materials. Associated with the UK Noise Abatement Society, this honor is awarded to some of the quietest products in the market that prioritizes responsible acoustic design to reduce noise pollution and to create healthier environments.
